Introduction

·         Introduce Sports Theme

Icebreaker

·         Team Roster

o   Have each kid sign their names on the team roster when they arrive.

·         Name Ball Toss

o   Have the kids sit in a circle and give one player the ball. As the kids toss the ball around the circle have them say the name of the player that they toss it to. Keep it going until each kid has had a chance or until they all know each other's name.

Activity

·         Pass the Ball

o   The kids must form two teams and each team must stand in a straight line. Give the first players in each line a ball. Once the whistle is blown the ball needs to be passed from player to player. The catch of this game is that the kids can use any part of their bodies with the exceptions of their hands. If the ball at any time touches the ground, it has to go back to the beginning of the line again. The first team to get the ball to the end of the line is the winner.
