Fingerplays:

Summer Fun
We'll fix a picnic lunch
And eat it when we like.
                [eat]
When we all are nice and full,
We'll take a nature hike.
                [walk]
Then we’ll go fly a kite
And watch it soar as we run.
                [run]
Spending time outside
Is always so much fun!

Summer Sun
The summer sun in the sky,
Shining, shining up so high,
Makes it warm for outside fun…
To play at the park and run,
                [pretend to run]
To swim, hike and fish
                [pretend to swim]
And go on a picnic, if you wish!
                [pretend to eat]

Picnic Time
Going on a picnic,
Got to pack a lunch.
What should we bring
To munch, munch, munch?
                [list ideas]

My Kite
I took my kite to the park
And flew it in the air.
I flew it high,
                [stand up]
I flew it low,
                [sit down]
I flew it everywhere.
I flew it in a great big circle,
                [spin]
I flew it in a square,
I flew it in a squiggly line
                [wiggle]
And tossed it in the air.

I’m a Kite
I’m a kite
[form diamond shape with fingers]
Way up high.
[stand on tiptoes]
Twisting, dipping
[twist and dip]
In the sky.
In the wind,
I twirl around.
                [twirl around]
With no wind,
I tumble down.
                [sit down]
