Fire! Fire!
9-1-1!
I fight the blaze until it’s done.
Who am I?
(firefighter)

I get up early
Just to bake
Your cookies, rolls
And bread and cake.
Who am I?
(baker)

Stitches and itches,
Slips and falls,
Colds and flu,
I fix them all.
Who am I?
(doctor)

I’m there for you
Both night and day
So you are safe
At school and play.
Who am I?
(policeman)

Fingerplays:

The Sleepy Firefighter
The sleepy firefighter climbs into bed,
                [yawn and stretch]
Down on the pillow he lays his head.
                [lay head on hands]
Off goes the alarm
                [clap]
And down the pole he slides.
                [crouch down]
He jumps into the truck
                [jump up]
And to the fire he rides.
                [pretend to drive]

I’m a Little Firefighter
I’m a little firefighter on the go.
[run in place]
Here is my helmet, here is my hose.
[point to head; hold out hands]
When I see a fire, hear me shout!
[cup hands around mouth]
Turn on the water and put the fire out –
 “Shhhhhhhh!”
[pretend to spray a fire with a hose]

I am a Policeman
I am a policeman with my star.
                [point to chest]
I help people near and far.
                [point near; then far]
If you have a problem, call on me.
                [point to self]
And I will be there in 1, 2, 3!
                [count]

The Postman
Early in the morning at 8 o’clock
You can hear the postman’s knock.
                [knock]
Up you jump to answer the door,
                [jump up]
1 letter, 2 letters, 3 letters, 4.
                [count]

Mail Myself
I’m going to wrap myself in paper,
                [hug]
I’m going to dab myself with glue,
                [poke]
Stick some stamps on top of my head
                [pat head]
And I’m going to mail myself to you.
[point to self; then to kids]
I’m going to tie myself with red string,
                [spin]
I’m going to tie myself with blue.
                [spin]
Stick some stamps on top of my head
                [pat head]
And I’m going to mail myself to you.
[point to self; then to kids]
