Fingerplays:

Dinosaurs Were...
Dinosaurs lived long ago.
Some walked,
                [walk in place]
Some swam,
                [pretend to swim]
Some flew, you know!
[pretend to fly]
Some were big,
[stand up]
Some were small,
[crouch down]
Some were gigantic,
[stretch arms out wide]
Very tall!
                [stretch arms up high]

I’m A Mean Old Dinosaur
I’m a mean old dinosaur,
                [frown]
Big and tall.
                [reach wide and high]
Here is my tail
                [point to tail]
And here is my claw.
                [curl fingers]
When I get all hungry,
                [rub tummy]
I just growl.
                [growl]
Look out kids...
[reach arms out]
I’m on the prowl!
[lunge]

Dinosaurs
Spread your arms, way out wide,
Fly like a Pterodactyl, soar and glide.
                [fly with arms]
Bend to the floor, head down low,
Move like Stegosaurus, long ago.
                [crawl on floor]
Reach up tall, try to be
As tall as Apatosaurus eating from a tree.
                [reach up high]
Using your claws, grumble and growl,
Just like Tyrannosaurus on the prowl!
                [claw at air]

The Dinosaurs
The dinosaurs lived long ago,
When life on earth began.
Some were tall,
[stand up]
Some were small.
[crouch down]
Some liked water,
[pretend to swim]
Some liked land.
[walk in place]
Pterodactyls had leathery wings.
[flap arms]
Brontosaurs, long necks.
[stretch neck]
But the meanest dinosaur of all
[claw with hands]
Was Tyrannosaurus Rex!
